Welcome to my post on the best hotels in Antigua! If you are anything like me, you are looking for an amazing beach vacation on one of the Caribbean’s most incredible islands. Antigua, in my opinion, is still kind of my hidden Caribbean gem. It doesn’t feel as touristy as some of the others and still has that quaint vibe that keeps me going back.
As someone who has traveled to over 47 countries, I have very quickly come to realize that hotel and resort selection can set the tone for your entire trip. In this post, I will be diving into all of the best hotels in Antigua, from luxurious resorts to beachfront hotels, to budget-friendly stays, and everything in between.
Introduction: Best Hotels in Antigua
Just like any other island in the Caribbean, Antigua has a pretty robust resort scene. The best part about staying in Antigua is that you can find a hotel or resort that meets your needs. Whether you are looking for and adults-only all-inclusive, a luxury resort, a family-friendly resort, or you want more of a boutique hotel, Antigua absolutely has a resort for you.
In this guide I will dive into all of the best hotels in Antigua that I have stayed at, things I loved, insider tips, and why these hotels keep me, not only going back for more, but these are also hotels and resorts that I refer my travel clients to as well.
1. Jumby Bay Island
When you think “Caribbean vacation” in your mind, the exact image you probably have is white-sand beaches, beautiful resort on the beach, and resorts grounds that look like paradise. Well, if that’s your vision, then Jumby Bay Island is absolutely the resort for you! This private island resort feels hushed and exclusive the moment the launch pulls away from Antigua’s main wharf.
If you want to completely disconnect and truly feel like you are on a luxurious island, then book one of their villas, and enjoy a spa day in their incredible spa, which will leave you feeling completely relaxed. For solo travelers who want absolute privacy and five-star service (and who don’t mind the added logistics of a launch transfer), Jumby Bay is pure indulgence. Read up on the island’s recent renovations and villa options on their site and in recent travel features to see if the price matches the experience you want.
2. Curtain Bluff
If you are looking for a family-friendly all-inclusive hotel, that has a great balance of both luxury and activities, then Curtain Bluff is a great option for you. What I loved most about this resort is that I could alternate between laying on the beach with my book, and then the next day I could be active and take part in some of their included activities like snorkeling or tennis.
The staff in this hotel are incredibly attentive and make you feel great at home. The onsite restaurants at this hotel are very good, and I am pretty sure I gained 10 pounds on this trip, because the food was so good. This hotel just has a very friendly and welcoming vibe, not only from the staff, but from the other guests as well.
3. Hermitage Bay
Hermitage Bay is the boutique hideaway I go to when I want calm and understated luxury. The villas blend into the hillside and many have private plunge pools and open, breezy living spaces that let you fall asleep to the sound of waves. I booked here for a quiet anniversary-style stay and loved the focus on wellbeing, like yoga sessions, simple yet beautiful meals, and staff who know your name by the second day. Solo travelers who cherish privacy and thoughtful, small-scale service will find Hermitage Bay deeply restorative. Check their site for seasonal offers and villa categories.
4. Carlisle Bay
Carlisle Bay blends contemporary design with a relaxed Caribbean rhythm. I stayed here when I wanted a little more space and a calm base for exploring Antigua’s quieter west coast beaches. The property has stylish suites and villas, a good spa, and friendly staff who helped arrange half-day boat trips for snorkeling. Solo travelers who like a polished, quieter resort with easy access to outdoor activities will enjoy Carlisle Bay’s balance of design and service. It’s also a member of recognized luxury collections if brand assurance helps you pick.
5. Galley Bay Resort & Spa
Galley Bay is the picture-perfect, adults-only option I recommend when someone wants a barefoot, romantic vibe with attentive service. The resort is tucked along a lovely stretch of beach with gentle snorkeling right offshore, and it’s the place I chose when I wanted long, lazy beach days without noisy family crowds. For a solo traveler who wants calm days, great food, and simple, elegant rooms, Galley Bay delivers. If you prefer activity and nightlife you might find it too quiet, but for unplugging, it’s hard to beat.
6. Hammock Cove
Hammock Cove is a newer, upscale adults-only, all-inclusive resort focuses on villa privacy and elevated dining. I went there when I wanted a short, pampering stay where everything felt effortless: private plunge pools, a strong restaurant program, and discrete, helpful staff. If you’re celebrating something special or want to stay somewhere that feels newly polished and intentionally small, Hammock Cove is worth the splurge. For practical details on villa types and packages, check the resort’s site and recent travel writeups.
7. Cocobay
For travelers who want an adults-only and all-inclusive vibe, then Cocobay is a strong pick. It’s colorful, intimate, and perched above Friars Bay with friendly service and cottages that feel Caribbean-authentic. I stayed at Cocobay when I want a relaxed pace, fun breakfasts, and a social yet mellow vibe; it’s an easy place to meet people at dinner while still enjoying privacy in your cottage. If you’re seeking a great balance of price, atmosphere, and access to western beaches, Cocobay is a smart, feel-good choice.
8. Keyonna Beach Antigua
If you’re looking for an intimate, adults-only all-inclusive resort that feels like your own slice of paradise, Keyonna Beach Antigua should absolutely be on your radar. This boutique property sits directly on Turner’s Beach, one of the island’s most beautiful and secluded stretches of sand. What I love most about Keyonna is that it feels genuinely private, no large crowds, no loud pool parties, just peace, turquoise water, and the kind of calm that makes you forget what day it is.
Each of the cottages and beachfront suites features rustic wooden design touches, canopy beds, outdoor showers, and, if you want to splurge a little, your own private plunge pool. When I stayed here, I spent most of my mornings sipping coffee on the porch, watching the waves roll in. It’s that kind of place where time slows down and every sunrise feels a little more special than the last.
The dining experience here is another highlight. Instead of buffets, Keyonna Beach focuses on à la carte, made-to-order meals served right by the beach. The menu changes daily and incorporates local ingredients and Caribbean flavors, so every meal feels fresh and intentional. The grilled snapper and coconut curry dishes were my favorites.
Pro tip: Book one of the beachfront plunge pool cottages if you can, because it’s worth every penny for the privacy and views. Also, don’t miss their on-site spa for a sunset massage; it’s the perfect way to end a relaxing day.
