If you are a solo traveler like me, then you will love staying at The Hoxton Amsterdam. This hotel is stylish, modern, and located right along the Herengracht canal. The vibe of the hotel is warm, and the staff are very welcoming. One of my favorite aspects of this hotel was the cafe-lounge area. I used this spot every day to do some blogging and work, and it was a great spot to meet other travelers and chat about our adventures over a great cup of coffee.
The rooms in this hotel are cozy and comfortable, and the hotel itself is lively, but relaxed. Because this hotel is very centrally located, it is very easy to get to Amsterdam’s most iconic attractions, canals, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance.

If you are looking for a hotel that is more than hotel, and that has some charm and a story behind it, then the Hotel Die Port van Cleve is the hotel for you. This charming Dutch hotel has the perfect blend of that Dutch heritage we all want to see and immerse ourselves in and the modern comforts we like in a hotel. Just stepping into the lobby, I felt the history of this surrounding me.
The rooms with cozy, comfrtable, and elegant, without beeing too much, and their onsite restuarants was one of the best resturants I expereince while in Amsterdam.
The hotel is very centrally located, making it very easy and safe, for a solo traveler like me to get to all of the things I wanted to see and do. Anne Frank, the Royal Palace, and the incredibly charming Jordaan district are all a short within walking distance.

1. Hotel Estherea
One of the coziest hotels in Amsterdam has to be the Hotel Estherea. This hotel is situated along the Singel Canal and is in Amsterdam’s city center. Because of this hotels’ cozy charm, friendly staff, and safe location, this is a perfect hotel for families, solo travelers, really any traveler looking for a home-like place to stay while traveling in Amsterdam.
The breakfast in the hotel was absolutely delicious, and because it is so centrally located, you can easily walk to iconic attractions like Anne Frank and Dam Square. The charm and timelessness of this hotel makes it a great place to stay if you want that home away from home vibe.
2. Room Mate Aitana
If you are looking to stay in a more contemporary hotel close to the Amsterdam Centraal Station, then Room Mate Aitana may be a great option for you. This modern hotel has large rooms, great views of the harbor, and family suites which are perfect for larger and extending families who may want to stay together.
Because this hotel is so close to the train station, this is a perfect place to stay if you are looking at doing more day trips from Amsterdam, since the train station is so close. The rooms here are modern, bright, and actually pretty spacious when you look at what they cost. There is an onsite bike rental and cafe, making it a great spot to grab coffee, chat with other travelers, and then jump on a bike and get to where you need to be. It’s a great value and a great budget-friendly option for solo travelers.
2. ClinkNOORD
If you are a traveler looking for a budget-friendly accommodation with a flair, then ClinkNOORD may be the best accommodations option for you. This hostel is situated in one of Amsterdam’s most popular neighborhoods, Noord, just across the IJ River, it’s accessible via a short (and free!) ferry ride from Centraal Station.
A fun fact about this hostel is that it was once a former laboratory that turned into a hostel. With clean rooms, a super fun vibe, and plenty of other travelers to meet and swap stories with, this is a great option for those looking for a budget-friendly stay in a safe area, and those want to experience Amsterdam’s most vibrant scene, without breaking the bank.
