When I start to plan any solo trip, one of the first things that I always think about is safety. Aruba has always been an island that I have wanted to visit due to my strong Dutch background. But, of course, just like I do with any trip, my may concern was “is Aruba safe”. I am here to tell you, that I felt extremely safe as a female solo traveler in Aruba. The pristine beaches, amazing food, and generous people made my trip absolutely amazing. In this post, I will be sharing all of my tip and tricks to staying safe in Aruba, so that you can have an amazing trip in this incredible island, just like I did!

They don’t call Aruba “one happy island” for nothing. From Aruba’s stunning beaches to amazing clear blue water, and daily sunshine, I couldn’t help but be happy the entire time I was in Aruba.
Now, don’t get me wrong, safety is always at the forefront of my mind, especially as being a solo female traveler. However, if you are mindful of your surroundings, and make good decisions, you can absolutely stay safe in Aruba. Now, let’s dive into some of my personal safety tip on staying safe in Aruba!
Is Aruba Safe: What the Experts Say
Currently the U.S. Department of State considers Aruba a level 1, which means exercise normal precautions. This is the lowest advisory level, which meany that the country is generally considered safe by global standards. Of course, these advisories do change, and it’s always recommended that you visit your countries advisor state to ensure you are aware of any potential safety concerns prior to planning your trip to Aruba, or anywhere for the matter.
When you travel to Aruba you should safety awareness just to ensure you stay safe. Always keep an eye on your velongings, and try not to leave your hotel/resort/vacation rental with oo much money, expensive jewlery, or anything that may catch someone’s eye.
Visiting Aruba: First Hand Experience
From the second I stepped foot onto the happy little island of Aruba, I immediately noticed how clean and how well-maintained the streets and country looked. Even in the evening, I never felt unsafe walking around and exploring the country. The streets were calm at night, compared to the day. But the locals I would met, where super wamring and inviting.
I strolled along Palm Bech, feeling totally safe and enjoying listening to the sounds of the waves. I even felt comfortable sitting my purse down on a bench and walked to take some pictures. From my experiences, Aruba was safe, clean, and I found the local people to be incredibly kind. I never once felt unsafe or felt like anyone was trying to take advantage of me or the fact that I was traveling solo.
Aruba Safety Tips
Safety travel tips is somethign that shoud be references regardless of the destination being visted. During my trip to Aruba, I found ,yself using the same safety tips that I honestly use everyone I go. Even home! nd even thouh Aruba’s warm hospitlity, and welomng and inviting nature, may encourage to to let your guard down, please never do. Espically while travelling.
When I travel, I always leave nythign valuable, like jewrly and big bills at home. I only ventured outside of my resort with exactly what I needed: crossbody purse, wallet, limited cash, and one credit card. Everything else I automatically kept locked and secure in the room safe.
If you are out walking and exploring a new city, try not and walk around with Google maps on dislay and your phone in your hand. That is the #1 item that does get stolen, and if you keep it locked and decure, you help decrease the chances of your phone getting stolen, because you were loomin gat Google Maps.
Insider Tip: You can download google maps offline that not only helps with server in another country, but ensure you are walking around lost in a city, trying to read/listen to Goole Maps.

As I write this post and reflect on my trip, I can 100% confirm and attest to the fact that Aruba is indeed safe. By taking your standard safety procedures, leveraging some of the tips mentioned in this post, you will have an amazing trip enjoying everything that the amazing Caribbean Island of Aruba has to offer.
