In this guide, I will be reveling the best resorts in Puerto Rico, from luxurious resorts to vibrant stays, and everything in between. Now, let’s dive into the best resorts in Puerto Rico!

1. Dorado Beach, Ritz-Carlton Reserve

This resort was for sure one of my favorite resorts in Puerto Rico. In true Ritz-Carlton fashion, the service at this resort is impeccable. You are greeted with a welcome drink infused with fresh local fruit, and the property is absolutely incredible. A fun face about this hotel is that it actually sits on an old Rockefeller estate.

One of my favorite things to do while I stayed here was get up early in the morning, grab coffee, and just walk along the miles of trails that the property has, enjoying the grounds, the quietness, and the views. It was such a peaceful way to start my morning, and a great time to see the butterflies and iguanas as well.

This resort also has rooms with private plunge pools, which is great if you are looking for privacy and a little more seclusion, and their spa is an open-air retreat, where you can have a massage in a treehouse. Honestly, this massage was therapy for my mind, body, and soul. I’ve never experienced anything like it.

Pro Tip: If you are looking for an even more upscale stay, book a private residence and get your own private butler!

2. St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort

If you are looking for a resort in the middle of a rainforest, then the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort is for you. What I loved most about this hotel is that you have the best of bother worlds. The El Yunque rainforest on one side and the ocean on the other.

This hotel property is large, but it’s not too big. There are so many places you can meditate, practice yoga, or even relax in one of the hammocks with a book in the secret garden. This resort has kayaks that you can use on their lakes, an amazing infinity pools, which I always love, and views for days.

Pro Tip: This resort offers bird tours, and the Bahia Beach is a certified bird sanctuary, and is a must see if you are staying here.

3. Fairmont El San Juan Hotel

If you are looking for a combination of a luxury stay and some fun energetic nightlife, then the Fairmont El San Juan is the perfect resort for you. You can enjoy the amazing white sand beach during the day, and then in the evening enjoy one of the lively onsite bars that are on property. This resort has lively salsa music going on in the lobby, and then you can also enjoy music with a DJ by the pool if that is more your vibe.

One of my favorite aspects of this hotel was the Banyan Tree Pool which is completely shaded by a 300-year-old tree. I felt like I was at a wellness retreat, and it was the perfect place to enjoy some shade and read my book.

Pro Tip: If you are staying here, dress to impress in the evening, as this hotel is a hot spot for locals and tourists to enjoy.

4. Condado Vanderbilt Hotel

This elegant hotel was built in the early 1900’s, and it literally feels like you are stepping into that era when you walk in. Something about this hotel feels like old money and I can just envision the kind of clients the hotel catered to during that time.

The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel has amazing ocean view rooms, that I could literally stare out of all day and a very luxurious spa. The terrace in this hotel is the perfect place to watch the amazing sunset views, and you can tell throughout this entire property that there was a great attention to detail that went into it.

Pro Tip: The best ocean view rooms in this hotel is in the Commodore Wing.

One of the most modern and stylish resorts in Puerto Rico that I have stay at is the La Concha Resort. This is a super fun hotel which lots of amazing photo ops on the property.

They have a super chic coffee shop, and they make the most amazing lattes, which I enjoyed as I walked around the property every morning, before hitting the pool. Their infinity pool overlooks the beach and there is a DJ as well playing great music, and everyone was having the best time. This hotel was a great pick for me as a solo traveler, and had a great vibe my entire stay.

Pro Tip: If you want a break from the energy, head up to the rooftop at night. You get a great ocean breeze, and amazing views.

6. Hotel El Convento

I think what I loved most about the Hotel El Convento was that it was located in the heart of Old San Juan. Old San Juan is one of my favorite areas in Puerto Rico, and I absolutely love getting lost in the area. The colorful buildings, the people, and amazing food. It’s the best!

Another one of my favorite things to do in this hotel was the cheese reception. It was a great way to meet other travelers before heading out to explore the city.
