Best Hotels in Rio de Janeiro

1. Belmond Copacabana Palace

The Belmond Copacabana Palace is a mix between the past and present with a glamourous twist. I absolutely loved the art deco design, and the service in this hotel was top tier. This hotel was built in the early 1900’s and is incredibly luxurious. One of my favorite aspects was the ocean view suite, which gave me amazing views of the Copacabana Beach.

3. Santa Teresa Hotel RJ

The neighborhood of Santa Teresa was probably one of my absolute favorite areas in Rio. This colorful and artsy neighborhood is away from the hustle and bustle of Rio and Copacabana and offers such a different perspective of Rio. The Santa Teresa Hotel RJ is a super cute boutique hotel at the top of the hills in this charming neighborhood. I felt like I was in a tranquil resort, and it was nice to be away from the busyness that downtown Rio and the beach areas can be. These rooms had great sunrise views of Guanabara Bay, that I absolutely couldn’t get enough of.

This hotel has a fun artsy and cultural ambience that wasn’t like any other hotel that I have stayed at. And given the area it was in, the hotel absolutely matches the vibe of Santa Teresa. The spa services were incredible, and I felt like I was in a tropical jungle. This hotel is a great option if you want to see the artsy side of Rio and a good option if you aren’t a first timer, as it is further away from some of the other attractions that Rio has to offer.

Another great hotel option in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, is the Vila Santa Teresa. This hotel actually felt more like a hidden gem, because it is tucked away in a pretty secluded area of the Santa Teresa neighborhood.
