If you are here, I am assuming you are planning a trip to this incredible Greek island and are looking for some recommendations on where to stay and why. As someone who has traveled all over Greece, I have learned that deciding where to stay in a city can make or break your trip.

Mykonos is an incredible island with lots to see and do. But it can be crowded, expensive, and depending on what area you stay in, loud! In this guide, I will walk you through all of my favorite areas in Mykonos. I will include why you would want to stay there (and maybe why you wouldn’t) so that you can ensure you pick the right area for your memorable trip to Mykonos.

Introduction: Where to Stay in Mykonos

Mykonos has probably been by far, one of my favorite Greek islands to visit. When I first thought about Mykonos, I thought of it as just a beach club island. But honestly, Mykonos is so much more than that. Depending on your trip, and what you want to see and do, you want to make sure you are staying in an area that is close to what you want to do and that matches your vacation style.

In this blog post I will review all of my favorite areas to stay in at Mykonos. Including why you would want to stay there, things to do, and insider tips from my personal experiences, so you can decide for yourself where to stay in Mykonos.

Now, let’s get into it!

The Platis Gialos and Ornos is probably my favorite area to stay in while in Mykonos. This specific area offers a great mix between the beaches we all known that Mykonos is famous for, plus that rest and recharge time that we want when we are vacationing.

This area is extremely walkable, and you can be to the beach in a few minutes, plus walking to stores and restaurants are all within a few minutes walk.

This area offers the best of both worlds. If you like quieter nights like I do, without compromising walkability and things to do, then I highly recommend Platis Gialos and Ornos.

Conclusion: Where to Stay in Mykonos

When planning your trip to Mykonos, it’s important to choose an area that matches your travel style. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing trip, Paradise would be an area you want to avoid. If you are looking to party, staying in the quiet areas of Agios Ioannis or Elia/Kalo Livadi, may not be the best pick for you.

As a solo female traveler, I look for walkability, safety, and quiet evenings. Deciding where to stay in Mykonos can honestly make or break your trip, so make sure you pick an area that meets your needs and vibe.
